Jamaican singer Patou Powell is the supporting voice for many of Australia's top recording artists, Kylie Minogue, James Freud, Jenny Morris, Lisa Maxwell, Max Q and Margaret Urlich to name a few. A prolific performer in his own right, he has fronted many successful bands in his 18 years in Australia, including recording acts Club Ska, Lovetown and Ten Wedge.
Currently Patou is the lead vocalist and percussionist for funk band Neptune Street and maintains a packed schedule as a session artist. He can also be found performing regularly in professional and street theatre productions and is busy finalising new performance and production projects in the jazz, R&B and dance music arenas.
Late in 1995, this outstanding group of musicians released a CD. This debut self titled release "THE GAPP" was well received and respected as a diverse and contemporary jazz offering. Since that introduction, the band has been performing, promoting and fine-tuning their brand of music. Re-invented, "Neptune Street" now presents a new spice to their menu!! Innovative and smooth, contemporary driving funk... unique arrangements from jazz to reggae, blues and beyond... exquisitely presented, with defined harmonies interwoven through rich infectious grooves...Without pretension, Neptune Street is an enjoyable, impressive, blend of talent, personality and musicianship... When these guys are cookin`, it's an exercise in flavour and taste!!
